In alternative to asp.net dropdownlist, i am using select tag of html5.. here data is bound from table. data is displayed in drop down list. i wanted the first item in list to be blank. is there a provision to make 1st item of drop down list blank for databound tag!! i was looking for alternative to append databound item to text but could not get it.. i has tried with option tag inside select tag where value in option tag is set to blank... it didnt work... any help..
