What does this mean?

Error   315 It is an error to use a section registered as
allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level.  
This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured 
as an application in IIS.

Solution 1

Check if your application has more than 1 Web.config file? Generally this occurs because of that.

Make sure you just have only ONE web.config file.

Next when you publish it on IIS... check config file. Set to correct .NET Framework version.
