Application works fine in windows 7 but not in windows xp

My application works fine in windows 7 but does not work in windows xp. Error id displayed "Reinstall the application may fix the problem .......". using dependency walker, i am getting this error, for that application "Atleast one delay load dependency module was not found. Atleast one module has an unresolved import due to missing export function in delay load dependent module"

This is some exotic case, usually people screw up Windows 7 execution. Anyway, as you shared very little relevant information, it hardly will be possible to advise anything.

Are you surprised that OS is not backward compatible by 10 years? You should Google your error and follow the leads diligently before trying anything else.

Solution 1

That means that you are using some features which became available only after Windows XP. Before using those features, you must check the version of the OS and execute those statements only conditionally. An example is ThumbnailToolBarButton.
