Hi there could someone please guide me to a tutorial on how to build a desktop application using java to locate mobile phones or other networked machines ?

The reason i am asking here is ive been searching on google for over 3 months now and have come up with nothing other than nonsense that you have to pay for, i want to learn how this process is done for my own project.

What if I say there is no tutorial for your specific requirement. Now?

You should learn about the steps involved, investigate, find out and try to build it by yourself. Post specific issues if you face any.

??

This shows that you do not believe in paid software.. Can you show me some of your open source and free to download projects? Then I can help you build your application for free.. Even a lot of people will join us..

1 solution

you did not really search if you did not find the Google Maps API[^]

The mobile needs to be assigned to be found via such a service.

EDIT: You want to look for "location based services".
