Connection fails between filter and report viewer web part

PWA 2019 on-premise classic project site page, we added a report viewer web part and query filter web part. The report viewer web part is used in each project sharepoint project site and the report content is specific to the project.

When we create a new project site from Save as template option, the connection is broken between report viewer web part and filter web part on a new project site. The report does not populate and needs editing the page to set the connection between the web part. Is there a way to extract the project site URL into the report viewer web part without using the filter or any ideas to fix the connection issue?
