each student from class 1 to 10 is given a distinct number the physical training (pt) instructed all the m students to stand in a straight line(a) in ascending order. but some primary class students don't follow the instructions and start running around. these students are made to sit aside in the ground. the pt instructor calls out random numbers (r) to check if the student with the number called is in the li or not. if the student with number r is already preser in the line, give the position of the student in the line (index). if the student with number r is not preser and sitting aside in the ground, give the position where this student should join in the line. ber given n, a[], r, the task here is to find the position of he students as per the above instructions. note: position of the students in the line starts from 0.

What I have tried:

I have tried to initialize the array and increment it according to the instructions given

You have tagged this C++, C and Python, but which is it? And unless you show your code and explain the problem, it is impossible to suggest anything to help.

1 solution

While we are more than willing to help those that are stuck, that doesn't mean that we are here to do it all for you! We can't do all the work, you are either getting paid for this, or it's part of your grades and it wouldn't be at all fair for us to do it all for you.

So we need you to do the work, and we will help you when you get stuck. That doesn't mean we will give you a step by step solution you can hand in!
Start by explaining where you are at the moment, and what the next step in the process is. Then tell us what you have tried to get that next step working, and what happened when you did.

If you are having problems getting started at all, then this may help: How to Write Code to Solve a Problem, A Beginner's Guide[^]
