Hello all,

Yesterday my father in law asked my help to solve a not so serious issue: it seems that a web page of one flight company in Spain is not working properly only with his computer... all the other computers in the house work as expected.
Mine works as expected...

The problem seems to be that when you reach that link: http://www.vueling.com/es/reserva-tu-vuelo/busca-tu-vuelo/[^], when you press in the arrow of the "Origen" combobox, no cities appear there... Only "Seleccion de origen" and the gray cross appears

SUMMARY:
  • He has windows 7 and ie9.
  • With chrome and firefox it works well.
  • All the other computers in his network (4) work properly with ie9.
  • I disabled the firewall & antivirus with the same results.
  • Any idea on what could it be?

Thank you in advance.

Have you checked if there are JavaScript errors? "Developer tools" (F12) -> "Script" tab -> check "Console" window. Also, try pressing "Start debugging" button and then opening "Origen" combobox - you'll notice if there are exceptions

Nope, never used that... I did not knew it existed :sigh: but well, a script error should happen in all the computers shouldn't it? and in the case it would be a local issue, reinstalling JAVA should make it and he reinstalled it...

It may depend on computer (installed IE updates, for example, or simply enabled/disabled JavaScript scenarios, which is browser setting). And it's not Java, it's JavaScript - script language that doesn't require anything except browser being installed

yes, you are right... I'll look at a way to reset the IE9 setting to the factory ones... let's see if that works...

That's kind of "last resort" step, but you could give it a try :). Actualy, there can be tons of reasons - for example, some banner-blocking add-on, incorrectly set IE mode... impossible to say for sure
