There is nothing like rownum in access, but you can have something similar check this: http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/re-rownum-equivalent-ms-access-t1164681.html[^].
By the way, if you are following the relational model's concepts, you don't need something like that. You would be probably better served with an autoincrement field[^].
