Bluetooth and Visual Basic 6

Just starting to play with this. Is it possible to detect a Bluetooth device when it is turned on with Visual Basic 6? Also I do not want to connect it to a USB port to be connected. I just want to turn it on and have Visual Basic detect it. Am I barking up the right tree? Thank you.
