I used the visual studio 2010 installer to install a simple console application program. It says it is successfully installed and I see it in my control panel ->programs and features but I don't see the .exe in the directory it was installed in? Any suggestions?

that depends upon how the intaller is coded. I mean while making the installer you have to check where the exe is copied onto the hard disk.

And what do you mean "the directory" - which one you are refering.

There are too many ways of screw up things. How do we know which one do you prefer?.. :-)

Evil, but true.

Don't get me wrong: nothing negative to the OP in this respect; we all screw up things sometimes, more or less, in different ways. What is important is to indicate the failure openly and provide adequate information on the problem. Otherwise -- how people can possibly help? This was the point.

I know, it was not a complain. If you understand what teh OP wants to do, your answers are quite accurate and well explained. I just found it funny, the way you told it :)
