divide internet bandwidth over computers

i have a router and 4 computers connected to it and it connect to Internet

my maximum download speed is 256KB/Sec as the LAN speed is 2 Mbps

i want to divide the bandwidth over the 4 computers as what i want

the first -> 20% from the bandwidth
the second-> 30%
the third-> 10%
the forth-> 40%

i was trying to GOOGLE it and i found 3 programs

ccproxy: need to setup it on server and all clients
bandwidth controller and netlimiter divide the bandwidth on the local computer over the programs that need internet

i can not find a program the divide the internet over computers on a network without need to setup any thing on clients

any ont know any thing about this?

If your router does not provide this (and it probably doesn't) then your only alternative is to install software on all clients to do it.

BTW: Are you really running a 2M bps LAN? :wtf: Or do you mean your ADSL internet connection is 2M bps? Because even bad old coax gave 10M bps...

is not any way to do this with no installation if my router does not support QoS?

Not that I know of - and since the PC's don't know they are sharing a connection, or anything about it's speed, or what provides the connection (ie. if it is a router, T1 gateway, or a PC) it's unlikely.

Your only other options are within the router, or connect the router to a single PC and share the internet connection from there. You could then install software such as IPCop on that to do it - effectively turning the PC into a router. Expensive solution though!
