querying complex objects through XQuery.

I did some background reading about XQuery and did some tests, and they worked well , but all the samples I got were using simple objects such as having few properties with basic data types , I want to find out how to handle complex objects with Xquery such as having another object with in an object .I really appreciate your suggestions and info on this .
