How the compiler came to know that this is aspx page or js page or any other page.

With ASPX files, it's based on the file's extension. If you don't give it the proper extension, the compiler won't know what to do with it. With JS files, they're just text files, and when you load one in HTML, the script tag attributes define what type of text file it is.
