Hi, 

I have set up LDAP server using OpenLDAP in Linux Mint. Now, I want to update schema so that I can have more than 1 UserSMIMECertificate attribute for an User in the directory.Can somebody please tell me how to go about it please?

What I have tried:

I changed the Schema file(in cn=schema, cn=config path) by updating the syntax manually from Binary(1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.5) to Octet string(1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.40). I restarted slapd service after changing the schema file but adding 2 attributes is failing with below error message in LDAP Client.
Inappropriate Matching
LDAPException: Inappropriate Matching (18) Inappropriate Matching
LDAPException: Server Message: modify/add: userSMIMECertificate: no equality matching rule
LDAPException: Matched DN:

Can somebody please help?
