Hello Experts,

We have a public website for all the Dealers.
Now my boss has got some CSS and asked us to change the design of the website.

Can you just change the website look with couple of CSS files?
Not sure where he got those from. Its really hard to get reply from him as he is on continuous travel and meetings.

Now here are my questions.

Cascade Style Sheets are for making the website look different styles.
We can design it on our own. Why do we need some two CSS?

This question may be silly or I am missing something very simple.

Just help me understand.

The answer for your question is yes CSS can change the look and feel of your site.
But you should know your page structure to apply those styles.

Is it any third-party HTML layout you are using for your website , if so then your boss could have bought the CSS from the same third party who is after all the owner of the page structure so they know what they are doing. You don't have to write your own. Save your time!

That is the problem I have here, the website was developed some 15 years back and I am new one to work on this now. I don't think it is good idea to start entirely new website based on the old one as it is time consuming. I am stuck in black hole . Thanks for you help . I had all this in my mind but wanted to make sure if its true to my knowledge.

Yes, if these couple of CSS files are used for all pages of the site or can be applied to them. :-)
