SharePoint Online App Creation

I am looking to add some custom c# programming to a sharepoint online app that I have created & designed the html markup for. Unfortunately, I cannot find anywhere that describes where your class coding, or toolbox item code is supposed to be placed. If someone could provide a sample or reference guide it would be appreciated.

Do you mean Sharepoint 365 when you say online app? There are plenty of examples, but if you're just beginning with SP I suggest you go to Microsoft Virtual Academy and listen to couple of tutorials.
