Can someone please elaborate the difference in production server and development server in simple terms and please let me know how to deploy a webpart on Production server ?

Production is a "live" system, with users, customers, etc. accessing the product.

Development is a system which is still being activity developed, with no/limited end user activity.

You deploy a web part to a production environment, the same way you would a development environment, by using the WSP file(s) / packages.

Is there an actual problem you are experiencing?
