How Do I Get User Information From Active Directory

I have an application that uses LDAP to authenticate users against active directory. Once authenticated, I would like to get logged in user name and email so that I can send email.

The log in part works, but how do I go about getting the user name (not username, but actual full name) and e-mail address and use it to send e-mail?

Thanks for suggestion, I am probably having a brain freeze, but struggling to understand those articles.
