Hey Guys,
I create an empty out-of-process EXE COM which I exposed a HelloWorld interface to display a message box with "Hello".
and I create a client to connect to the COM object and use the interface to execute the message box.
The Client connects fine locally, but I'm having trouble connecting remotely, one the remote machine I'm getting error number 5.not sure what it means.
Any ideas, feedback or if someone has a working sample of this simple scenario I would appreciate it.

Hi all,
I am using blowfish algo for string encryption. but it fails to encrypt the plain text in some cases. To solve above problem,
For that i am writing a text in a some file opened in binary mode
and then again reading the buffer from file and sending this buffer to the
encryption function.
1.Is there a better way of doing the same ?
2.How can one convert a simple plain text into binary format?. Also how can i can combine the plain text and binary text?

Hi,
I have some controls in a groupbox, the only way I was able to view the tooltips was when the groupbow was invisible.
I put the groupbox as first control in my .rc file, bust still it didn't worked.
I also tried searching msdn, but couldn't find anything that could solev this.

The groupbox must come after the controls in the Z order and you must make sure that the group box itself does not have a tooltip associated with it.

How do you do that? I searched for that solution too, but I couldn't figure out the SetWindowPos function. (there was another possible candidate function, but I forgot the name)

In the dialog editor you can set the tab order, make the group boxes the last controls in the tab order.
In the rc file, place the group boxes at the bottom.
If you are using SetWindowPos() use HWND_TOP as the hWndInsertAfter parameter.

Hi all,
For a current project I need to extract the subject part of a base64 encoded certificate. My module gets the certificate directly as a base64 encoded string (containing -----BEGIN .... END CERTIFICATE -----, not the certificate file itself.
I've tried the standard libraries of MS (wincrypt.h), WSE 2.0 and openSSL (but because of lack of documentation openSSL is a pain in the ass) but none of these can create some kind of x509 certificate object or decrypt the certificate string. I also tried simply decoding the base64 string to a normals string but this just gives me nonsense.
Anybody has any hints?

Have to make an interface on VIsual Basic and all coding in VIsual C++ 6.0.
The problem is that I am having the problem to connect VB to VC++.
Tried to do it with a DLL file but cudn't do it, Got an error with precompiled header.

The easiest answer is using ODBC with CDatabase, CRecordset and CRecordView classes of MFC. ODBC has a 'Microsoft Access Driver' that allows you to connect into an Access database file and use it as an ODBC-compatible data source.
As I have no idea on how skilled you are with databases, I suggest you start your reading experience from this MSDN[^] site.
