I am currently using Authen::Radius to authenticate users off of a linux server with something similar to the following perl script:

$login='mylogin';
$pass='mypass';

use Authen::Radius;
$r = new Authen::Radius(Host => 'myhostname', Secret => 'mysecret');
$response=$r->check_pwd($login, $pass);

if ($response eq "1"){
#successful
}else{
#unsuccessful
}

It is working very well on the linux side. I am now trying to authenticate off of Microsoft’s Internet Authentication Service (IAS). When I try it on the MS side, the connection is made (it is shown in the IAS log), but no response is sent back to the client. Using a windows-based test client, we have found that a response is generated if Radius uses MS-CHAP.
My question is, how do I get my script above to negotiate IAS with MS-CHAP?

I'm a perl programmer myself, but I don't know anything about Authen::Radius. I've never used it. I think you would be much better off if you posted your question to the Perl Monks site.

Try something like this:

Keep in mind that the vertical text is right aligned, so you will want to keep it in a table cell or a layer. I still haven't figured out left aligning it.

There is a way to use CSS to rotate an entire layer. That may help you too.

I have two forms form1.aspx and form2.aspx.
form1.aspx has a pushed button with a code like this

if a click the push button in form1.aspx it does redirect me to form2.aspx.

Anyone know I can prevent any links from getting clicked on, etc inside an IFRAME while embedded inside an normal document???

I have some IFRAME's and don't wish for the links to work when embedded in an IFRAME only. So disabling each element inside a document is no good...

I tried disabled inside the IFRAME tag itself, but no dice...

Any ideas???

I wonder if there are any animals that actually have to think in order to breathe? It would really suck to be them!!!

firstly, you shouldn't use iframes, that's bad web design. secondly, the only way i know of disabling anchor tags is to just plain remove them completely.

I know. I never mentioned anything about design.

I should have said something about being a special condition...but I didn't.

Not the answer I was looking for. I was hoping for something more along the lines as:

You could maybe capture events inside the IFRAME and cancel them and in turn handle onselectstart and cancel it as well.

I've managed to capture the onload() inside an IFRAME before so I don't see why I can't do the same for all events.

I wouldn't make such sweeping statements as "you shouldn't use iframes". You may have a personal preference, but the truth of the matter is that there are times when an iframe is a better design decision, IMHO. Also, you don't have to remove anchor tags to disable them. I'll explain.

There is a way to achieve disabling anchor tags, however, if what you mean is that your condition for doing so is only when a page is loaded in an iframe, your iframe src page would have to be smart enough to know that it is actually inside an iframe. I'm not sure if this is even possible and I don't believe it is. You might be able to achieve a smart enough page with some clever javascript, but that would be fairly involved.

Now, if that's not what you mean and all you need is a way to disable a click, the just set the onclick method like this:

<a href="http://www.google.com/" onClick="return false;">Test this link</a>

Now clicking will do nothing. Anyhow, best of luck with this. If you have more specific questions, let me know and I'll try to help.

Hi all,
I want to write for example www.google.com in my IE address bar and then IE redirect to www.yahoo.com. i dont know much about firewall and configuring them , so is it possible doing this in easy way and without third party software.?
With this way i can prevent some body in our home from going into some webpage Smile | :)

by the way we use WinXP.

I assume you are trying to block certain sites, i.e. keeping your kids from looking up porn. If this is the case, a real easy way of doing it is modifying the hosts file.
Open up c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ and you will see the hosts file. There is also an lmhosts. This will do the same thing, but hosts is cleaner.
Open this file with notepad.
At the bottom of the file, you will see the example:
127.0.0.1 localhost
Add the following:
64.233.167.104 www.siteyouwanttoblock.com

Now, anytime someone on that computer goes to www.siteyouwanttoblock.com, they will be brought to 64.233.167.104 (which is google.com). You could change the ip address to whatever site's ip you want. Basically, you are overriding the DNS.

I am trying to implement a web page filter with VC++. I define the Invoke method and pass the IE events to my application thanks to the Advise method. It works well but I can only obtain the content of the current page when the DOCUMENTCOMPLETE event is triggered. I would like to have it when the BEFORENAVIGATE2 event is triggered to prevent some pages from displaying. It would also fit to tell IE to wait until a page is completely download before displaying it. I am trying to get the HTML content of a web page before IE starts displaying it. I don't know how to do it.

Hi, I have a Web Project in .NET and I want to validate if a link really exists.

This is why I need that:
When users press a button in a web page, an external process is executed.
This process generates a PDF file and returns the file name. This file is allocated in a site (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/report/filexxxx.pdf) by the external process.
Then user press a "Refresh Button" in the web page and a link is automatically generated pointing to the generated file.
The problem is that sometimes, the process don't generate any file, so when user clicks the link, he receives the message "The page cannot be displayed".

Note: Web pages and PDF files are in different IIS.
Thanks.
I need to validate the link, so I wont show it if it doesn't exist.
It is possible? Any idea?

Seems to me you should use the System.IO class and then the File.Exists() method. For this method to work, you would need to know the file path for "http://xxx.xxx/report/". Once you know that and the file name,

if File.Exists(FullFilename) then
'show file
end if

The problem is that "http://xxx.xxx/report" is in a different physical machine that the one where the web pages are. I can access only by http to PDF files since they are outside my LAN. Thanks for your answer anyway.

I just put an example. But OK I have redesigned it to work directly on your document. For this I use the DIV statement.

Yesterday I received exactly what you're looking for, though it wasn't free - $29.95 or so. ASP.NET Website Programming, Problem - Design - Solution by Bellinaso and Hoffman starts with the requirements definition, proceeds through the design phase, then step-by-step constructs a website that does - among other things - exactly what you're trying to accomplish. Each of the major functions of the site is given a unique namespace, and the code is written in a three-tiered, modular style, allowing individual modules to be reused with a minimum of redesign. The namespaces used are MailingLists, NewsManager, Polls, Forums, Accounts, AdsManager, and FileManager - NewsManager looks like exactly what you want.

The book is available in two versions - C# and VB.Net - demonstrating the value of CLR-based design, since both produce the same website functionality. I bought the VB version, since that's the only .Net tool I have available, and I've read the first two chapters. So far, so good; the writing style is clear and readable, though it lacks tutorial background information on the .Net architecture. Code samples are well documented, though some require further research to understand if you're not already familiar with the .Net Framework. MSDN is a good reference for filling in the gaps.
