hi friends
i've got stuck about allocating one webpage into a specific frame, i do not know what system commands could be used to do so. when a user click on a link in one frame, that website should appear in other frame.
for example: i have a link button named Calendar, when the user click on this button, the calendar interface would display in the other frame.
could anyone help me please?

I want to use (RTF) extension so that file cannot lose its formatting i.e (bold, italics, font size etc).

Im using a console application because the program im working on is for automation purposes. Only problem is, i can figure out how to end the program. In a forms based program is is ME/MYBASE/THIS(C#).Close (because the program is a class) in the console its none of these. Ive tried Wrapping the API call of FreeConsole from Kernel.lib and it works only it doesnt stop the undrlying process just the window. Is there an easy way to do that that i may be overlooking?

yeah i know but i need to to prematurely quit... say on error... and im 4 functions down... and it cant just send me to an error dialog... has to print to a screen ... wait for any keypress and then terminate like a good dos program does...

I dont' know if this will work for you (I don't get into console apps very much), but you could try Application.Exit().

No it doesnt... if this were C# Forms or VB forms that might work, however... a console app is a module, it hasnt got a class name or functions behind it beside what it builds... id need to say get a handle of the running thread, and tell that thread to terminate...
im just not sure as to how i should do that.
Ive wrapped a few of the console APIs... FreeConsole onle destroys the window handle to the console itself... it doesnt terminate the process behind it...

Oh well, it was just a quick thought...
In that case, I'd implement a scheme as Colin suggests. Be sure it is a custom defined Exception and throw that when you need to. Make sure that the only Exception Handler that can handle that exception is the one in Main. All other exception handlers must not handle this exception if they do, must catch, then re-throw the exception to send it up the call chain back to Main.

Then throw an exception.
Create an exception class that is used for nothing else than premature exit. When you need to exit early throw the exception. Wrap everything in your main in a try/catch block and catch this specific exception. The catch handler can then process the exit in a considerate manner.

How can you search through a data set for a specific value?
search dataset in column 1 for value1
search dataset in column 2 for value2
search dataset in column 1 and 2 for value1 and value2
I'm sure this is possible but not sure where to start?

normally id just create a loop and go through all of data row by row... You could function that as well, to allow you to use the same code for different sets of columns and values...
If anyone else knows something easier id like to know as well...

I created a dataset through access database. I just need the search, or find engine to locate the files faster, if the files are too long. I would do the same thing as you suggested. Mine is an address book, and I also have a password dialog. How would I also can make the password dialog, if i want to change my password code?
My addressbook consist of First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State, Zip Code, Email. I would like to have a search button with code. Then I use a select statement for every field, then when the dataset populates, I can use the search and input box to enter the name of the person I am looking for?
Or do I have to enter in a case select every persons name within a dataset?

Hi Brit,
search through your dataset/datatable using the datatables "Select" method. It takes a string parameter in the form of a T-Sql like select statement. ex:
'create your dataset and datatable etc...

dt.Columns.Add(New DataColumn("columnTwo", sqldbtype.varchar)

no, if you were to search for 'Foo' it would not include any rows with 'Food' in column1 or column2, as Foo and Food are not equal.
However the select statement does support the use of wildcards, so a search for 'Foo%' would include any rows with 'Food', 'Foos' or 'Fool' as well as, but not include rows with 'Ofoo' or 'Afoo' in columns 1 or 2. You can also use '%Foo%' to search for 'Afool', but note that if your datasource is large enough, you could see a performance hit when using wildcards on both sides of your search value.
as for getting the data from the array, you would work with the datarwow array as you would with any other array. from my previous example:
drResultsBoth(0) would give you the datarow at position 0 in the drResultsBoth array.
typically you would enumerate over the array to perform some sort of change on a field in the datarow. ex:
if (drResultsBoth.Length > 0) Then
For Each currentRow as Datarow in drResults
if (cstr(currentRow("ColumnOne")).trim = "Foo" Then
currentRow("ColumnTwo") = "Bar"
