What RAPI functions are you using to retrieve the file names? Consider using the CeFindAllFiles function to retrieve all file names in just one call.

Hi,
I want to develope an application that use internal GSM/GPRS cell phone of my pocket pc QTEK 2020 PPC2003, like a modem to connect directly to another PC (with a modem) through a GSM connection. I must use a GSM connection not GPRS, bluetooth, irda an so on.
My questions are:
Are present in .NET objects based on TAPI libraries ?
Is TAPI the right solution ?
Reading on msdn 'modem connection' I don't understant how can I send and receive data.
Has anyone a sample or can redirect to a place where can I find anything ?
There will be in .NET compact framework anything ?

I got document/view based Application. And I got A big structure that i want to dowload to child Dialog. When i do it by DoModal - it takes a lot of time. So i decided load all this structure in Dialog when i start the appliacation, and the just hide or show the dialog. But i had one problem - when i create the dialog, my main programm command bar disapears. Hot to handle it?

Your CDialog will automatically create an empty command bar that it stores in the m_pWndEmptyCB member variable. You could try and destroy this window.

Hi, Thank you so much, for every help.
I did what you said, and now i have another problem:
let me explain:
I make a modeless dialog in CDocument class. Then i call another dialog (DoModal()), and from this dialog i call ModelessDialog->ShowWindow(SW_SHOW). I see my Modeless dialog, but it doesn't responce on any click, no one of buttons works... Like FROZEN. What is it???

Use ::ReleaseCapture() before displaying the dialog. This happens to me when I open a dialog from a context menu (tap-and-hold) and I solved it by releasing the capture in OnInitDialog.

Hi,
I'm wanting to track the clicks a user takes through a menu in a Pocket PC VB.net App.
Clicks are not registering when a user clicks a sub menu?
Does anybody know how to call the 'Popup' event when a user click on a sub menu?

Hi,
Friends I am new to evc++. Recently I downloaded evc++ 4.0 and its SDK.
I succesfully installed the software and SDK.
Problem is I am unable to connect my evc++ to Emulator.
When I ever try to Execute my program Emulator is opened but after some times I am getting "TimeOut::Connecting to device failed" message.
Every thing is right here like when creating a project I selected Emulator version and before compiling I set Emulator in Debug Combo Box.
Some of my freinds suggestion is that we need to modify in Settings.
But I don't know how to do that.
If you know please tell me how to solve this problen.

You need to have an operational network adapter, either install the microsoft loopback adapter or have an active internet connection (dialup will work)

Hi all. I need some help understanding the Animated GIF rendering.
If you have implemented the Animated GIF, you probably notice there are "disposal method" and transparency support.
The disposal method values can be "return to previous state", "fill with background", or "do not dispose".
Now my question is, suppose I have a canvas (ready to be bitblt), and frame A has "do not dispose" disposal method. So I put frame A on the canvas, fine. No big deal.
Then frame B has a smaller size (along with top and left field) picture with a transparent color. Should I be checking on frame B if it's transparent color then do not put that pixel on the canvas?
This checking takes a long time, especially on a cell phone. So I wonder if I can bypass it all together.
Any ideas?

Hi All,
I was hoping some one could help. The EnableScrollbar function is not supported on CE.
I want to disable/enable the scroll bars but nothing works. The SetScrollInfo docs claim that setting the SIF_DISABLENOSCROLL flag will disable the bars.. it does not. If I try to use CWnd::GetScrollBar it returns NULL - even though I created the CWnd with the WS_VSCROLL and WS_HSCROLL styles.
I do not want to hide the scroll bars which I could probably do with the CWnd::ModifyStyle function.
Any help would be appreciated.

The SetScrollInfo should work as expected as long as you provide correct info on the SCROLLINFO structure. For instance, make nMin = 0, nMax = 0 and nPage = 1.

using C# compact framework, How can I:
1.add items in the start menu of pocket pc
2.add items in "new" in task bar in today screen of pocket pc
3.add an icon in the taskbar of the today screen of pocket pc. A menu appear when the user click the icon.

My classmates and I wrote a program for a handheld scanner running Windows CE.NET 4.1. When we began working on it all we had available to work with was VB6. Now we have a copy of VB.NET. When we migrated the program from VB6 to VB.NET we found out that the program needed to be a smart device application instead of a windows application, and now most of our code doesn't work. We have 3 weeks untill we need to turn in this project and we have no idea what to do. WE NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't use VB, but here is will help.
Create a new smart device application in VB.NET. Then move your source files from the old project into the directory of the new smart application project. Be sure not to overwrite any files. Then in VB.NET you can "add exisiting items" to the project. You will then need to migrate your startup code into the main file.

The procedures that we use the most in our application don't work when I copy the code over. They don't exist in the .NET Compact Framework. I found a replacement procedure and most of the program works now, but there is one section of code that I can't seem to fix:
