What do you mean by "intercept"? If you are looking to do this inside of IE, you'll want to check out Browser Helper Objects (warning: Lots of COM Interop involved). You won't be able to see the actual download itself, but you'll be able to see the link that is clicked on and use that instead.

Do you mean that the file name that you already download is record into the database? In my opinion, when you click on the hyperlink in the browser just copy the URL in one variable. After you complete its download, you need to pass the string from variable to database. If you did not download complete, the variable is cleared, your database has no new record and next time you have to download it from the beginner again. If you download the same file then it will check the database to make sure that it might duplicate or not.

VBA default parameters in EXcel

Now I try to work with C#. My application had to process an *.xml file through Excel COM. Cause of I use native Excel help for VBA : “VBAXL9.CHM” .But there is any troubles .When C# generate proxy for excel object it not consider about optional argument and cause of I should explicit pass this arguments every time in methods call. In many places into excel help referenced behavior of an methods with parameters by default (optional parameters which omit), but I don’t know what it are.
Where I can learn about definition of this defaults parameters????

You questions concerning C# would be better handled in the C# Forum.

C# doesn't support optional parameters so, you actually have to pass in a value called Type.Missing. See this[^] document on MSDN for some explanations.

This is not a problem in VB.NET.

What do you mean by "on mail"? Are you looking to add a shortcut to the Explorer Shell Context Menu, like WinZip does?

Displaying Data from Access

Probably dead easy but new to this and just cant work it out.

I want my combobox to display the data from a particular column in an access database. Can somebody please explain how in nice easy steps.

I have a connection in the server explorer and can drag the field from their to the form to get the connection and dataadapter objects and have created the data set (data, generate..) but cant get the combo to display the info from the db.

I just give you some idea relate to your idea.
1. Connect to your database and write and SQL statement to select all the information from database. Move to last and go to first record (populate the recordset).
2. In the DropDown event of the combobox try to loop one by one record and add it item to the combobox.
Note: before the dropt down list appear clear all the information in the previous list.

No. But, you can multiply inherit interfaces.

yup I found that shortly after I posted but it seems it doesent have the same kinda functions that it does in java, but after a nice little search I found a DLL that was made on planet sorcecode that lets you have the same function's in VB, just needed to call the reference.

Is there any way to graphically represent sound (waves or bars or anything) intensity. Like those in the Graphic equallizers that dinamically move? Confused | :confused:

If you want to write your own solution, you'll have to do some reasearch into Fast Fourier Transforms, or FFT. You'll find that it's a bit CPU intensive to do. There are plenty of examples on the web, but you'll have to translate most of them to VB.NET yourself. Just search for "Fast Fourier Transform Spectrum Analyzer".

If you want there are two ways to display the audio file.
1. Analog output, like a old oscilloscope.
For this, just read the data file and display in a moving graph.
2. FTT graph.
This required a lot of process power, as you would need to keep
resampling on the fly. I'm not sure if your looking to do any
type of analysis, so the Analog output method would be more well
suited

I have a WINDOWS application that calls an unmanaged DLL (it's a JNI). The DLL redirects standard output and standard error for the JVM that is initiated.

Unfortunately the DLL function returns an error whilst performing this redirection.

I have created a test CONSOLE application which, essentially does the same thing but I have redirected standard output and standard error before calling the function in the DLL and this works fine. Applying the same method in the WINDOWS application does not work and an error is returned

Here is the code for the CONSOLE app (that works)...

okay here's some more info

I added a windows form to the console application and chnaged the project properties to "Windows Application" and it works!!

...but the project I create via File/New/Project...VB.NET/Windows Application - that doesn't work!!! What gives? Confused | :confused:

Is there a way to do this. I have 2 seperate projects that I want to be able to run together, and experienced problems when trying to import all the code into the other one, that and one has different references, so trying to manually import the code is a real pain.

but when I try to make reference to a class in the other project it cannnot find it.
