IDE Bug/Problem

I keep having a problem with the resources in use with my Menu, they keep reverting to numerical values in the .rc file. This results in the Help file not being displayed.
Also the ICON is not displayed either.

Has anyone seen this problem:-

If I replace 57670 with ID_HELP then my Help file is displayed.

I have via the properties box reset them to there correct ICD/ID values, but then revert back. Is this an IDE bug and waht can I do.

Thanks for your interest.

Yes the ID are being added to the resource.h file.

Note ID_HELP is not present in the resouce, I assume that is part of the general envoronment. But the others associated say with the Save File Menu option etc are present. The numbers correspond to there IDC/IDs.

Note also if I replace the numbers with the resources (via properties window), they revert back to numbers again.

Is this an IDE bug or is something screwed up within the project.

It's definitely not normal behavior. Does it happen with all of your projects, or just one in particular? Have you tried deleting the project's temporary files (e.g., .ncb, .opt, .aps, .clw)?

Its just this project. I did try what you suggested and also I replaced the numbers with the ID/IDC's. I even tried to replace the ID/IDC's in both the properties box and in the <progam>.rc file also for a few items, as the numbers are in this file also.

But still they revert back to numbers.

Are they anything that can be done to corrct this problem, or should I raise a call with Microsoft (I am allowed two with my support level).

i need to know how to determine the total cpu usage expressed in percent. Is there any function which can provide this value ? Please help me it's urgent.

On Win9x, i think the HKEY_DYN_DATA registry key provides some performance data, but im not sure if the CPU's included..

On NT/XP/2000, use performance counters:

Hi all,

an application gives stack overflow..as a workaround, increasing the
from 1MB to 16 MB stack size in the project setting solves the problem..

Is there any upper limit upto which the stack size can be increased..or any issue
will occur due to stack size raise..??

Is there any 3rd party freeware / share ware / paid tool which would display the
function stack in a multithreaded environment..Better than call stack in vc++ IDE..?

Any lights on this would be highly appreciated...

I have this code snippet used to keep the window on the top.

I didn't mean the window wasn't visible, just minimized. I want it to start non-minimized.

Are you making any calls to ShowWindow(), or does the dialog template have the WS_MINIMIZE style?

The Problem for me is I have created different tabs deriving from a CDialog object. I have 2 command buttons "OK" & "Cancel" & they reside in a dialog window(Not part of tabs dialog)

class C_TabControl : public CTabCtrl

So when the user presses "OK" by changing something in the tabs,I want to send a "function call" from the " C_TabControl" object to the tab.

As the Tabs are derived from CDialog,I can't define a function in the tab & call it using m_tabPages[0].
the compiler will complain that the "userdefinedfunction" not defined in CDialog.

So was looking for a function in CDialog which I can override to accomplish this purpose.
