Hi
When I try to install MSDE I get the following error message
"A strong SA password is required for security reasons. Please use SAPWD switch to supply the same. Refer to readme for more details. Setup will now exit"
I have looked in the readme, but I don't know how to change the sys admin password.
All help appreciated

Edit the setup.ini and add something do it. I don't remember what it is though, becuase I don't have a photographic memory. But, Heath Stewart answered this question for me before. Just search the forms!!!!!!!!!!

What I am looking in OutlookExpress is
Whenever any mail comes in to my inbox,I click it.
On the right side pane ,The folders are created by itself denoted by '+ ' sign.
The + sign indicates that the mails aremaintained in a tree view.
I do not want to create a folder.
The folders should be created by themselves like MS Outlook.
Pls guide.

We are setting up a central email server to rid us once and for all of the dumb executive virus syndrome. Some people here use Outlook and others Outlook Express.
That means the files are stored as .pst and .dbx
Is there anyway to get the mail content out of this in plain text or say in mbox(still plain text) or maildir

I'm working on an application (Visual C++, MFC, Windows NT/2000/XP) which can be run on a pen tablet computer or a desktop computer. I'd like to detect whether a keyboard is connected or not.
How can I detect the physical presence of a keyboard ? Since the BIOS can tell us if there is no keyboard, this should be possible. The associated information available on the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) layer of Windows don't seem reliable...

I just set up a domain controller and some clients. Now, whenever a client logs on, I want a VBscript to be run ON THE SERVER. At first, I created the VBscript file as a Windows Login script and put it into the NETLOGON folder so that it will be run whenever a client logs on.
However, I realize that this script, although residing on the server, is running WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE CLIENT. In other words, the script is executed as if it were located on the client.
This is definitely a problem because the purpose of my script is to retrieve system info from the client and then writing that to a database on the server. In reality, when the script executes, it tries to write the data to the database on the client, which does not exist!

I have a Web Server running on my machine.
When I start the machine everything works great for about 20-30 minutes.
Then something fails.
When I open the server c# project in the Visual Studio I get this error message:
The Web server reported the following error when attampting to create or open the Web project located at the following URL: 'http://localhost/Project'. 'HTTP:/1.1 500 Server Error.
If I try to get to http://localhost/Project/ I get this error message:
Logon failure: user account restriction. Possible reasons are blank passwords not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or a policy restriction has been enforced.
Has anyoone seen this?
Why oh why would it work for a while and then fail 
The only way I know to continue working is to restart the machine - royal pain in the neck.
My virus files are all updated and the machine gets scanned once a week.
P.S. OS is WinXP

Hi, I have a problem with Internet Explorer. I can't change the start page because the field and the buttons are read-only. I don't know why. My OS is Windows XP, I'm dawned with Windows Update and I have administrator privilege. I think that the problem began when I installed Norton Antivirus.
Can you help me ?

This problem might be cause by a virus call backdoor.trojan. the computer at might work place is affect with this kind of the virus. But it is not disable with the startpage text box and the button. It make a change in the registry key and it always start when your computer is turn on. The best solution is check the name of the virus and find an instruction how to delete it from your computer.
Note: some user privilege might change these setting too. Try to check your computer security policies... and another importance places.

Of course. It is at most 2^63, the size of a signed long long. I wouldn't be surprized if it was lower though.
(Note that 2^63 is bigger than and RAID system out there, and it wouldn't surprize me if it is bigger than all the storage on earth, though I have no way of examining that.)

A hub gets a message, and fans it out to everyone, a switch is much more intelligent. A switch starts reading a packet before it is all in, and as soon as it knows where to send it, sends to only to that port.
A switch allows you to have have more than one computer on the network talking at once, so long as they are not talking to the same device. (in some cases they can talk to each other, in others not) Second, you can mix speeds. This is a great speed increase where it works. (in the real world everyone is talking to just a couple machines)

A hub is a networking device which just connects multiple computers together for them to see each other in a network. However, Hubs causes too much collision. A switch, is better than a HUB. An anology for this is like a highway with no other cars rather than your own car. Their will be zero collisions when setting up a network using a switch.
