Hi guys,
Just to throw out a fact I've seen working with handheld computing for a long time.
I have done many mobility projects in my professional lifetime with many different kind of handheld computers, and I've seen also many people that use the PDAs extensively to take notes, control the appointments and so, as it is supposed to be used. But this people always have the same complaint, how could I enter data in a productive way? For example, when you are in a meeting, and at the end of the meeting you know you'll have 4 msword pages full of remainders and notes. It is almost impossible to do with a state-of-the-art pda like the iPaq and pocket pcs in general.
What do you think?

It's the best way I've found to keep appointments straight, though I wish there was a good way to carry it. It's a PITA to enter data into it, but I generally do all my weekly planning on the PC, then sync the PDA whenever I make a change. I had a Handspring for a time, but it failed the '29" fall to soft carpet' test; the entire faceplate shattered from a trivial impact, even though the protective cover was on it at the time.
I've got an application in mind for it, but until recently all the SDK stuff available required CodeWarrior development tools, and all I have is VS6. But recently a custom IDE was added to the Developer site at Palm, and I'm looking forward to giving it a test drive.
Some people think of it as a six-pack; I consider it more of a support group.

Since there are only about half the usual number of responses to the poll, does that mean that half of us have PDAs? Or is the poll attracting a different audience from which no conclusions can be drawn?
I suspect the latter, but the former is intriguing.

I use a PDA that my mom gave me.
Its small, light, no batteries needed, needs a good pencil, can be reduced in size (height), its is enviroment-friend and you can clean your ass with it!

I can't seem to get the .Net Framework 1.1 up and running on my Sinclair ZX-80. I downloaded it, copied it onto 745 cassettes, but it just won't get past the second cassette. Maybe i should go down J2EE path with it instead.

Absolutely crappy.
Prince of persia on a 1" LCD Display.. and a conversion program (english -> metric system).. with a horrible ui. Deleted all of them.. now i feel better.
And the best.. they don't even have got a month calender (THAT would make sense in a mobile phone)
But.. it's okay if you use it as a phone (that's what i do)

I really hadn't used it too much but the prospects opened up when I got a WiFi card.
7 days later I broke the LCD... 
Viewsonic want my first born to replace it.

I cracked the LCD on mine as well. Just out of curiosity, what was the quote they gave you?
Mine: $275 + tax
New one: $299 + tax
I just want the LCD, I will replace it myself, but NOOOO, they can't just send me the LCD, they have to install it as well!

Viewsonic wanted to charge me $165 + tax for the LCD and $60 + tax to get it here (from Taipei). And that's Australian dollars. That would work out to be around $170 US + tax (tax is 10% here).
But that was for the LCD only - I'd be installing it.
