The first thing I thought of is how old are the people who started programming between 10 - 15, 16 - 18, etc. years of age. It would make a very interesting dynamic to the poll to know how many 35 year olds started programming at 12 or at 18. I am sure the trend will be that the more younger programmers started at a younger age due to easier accessibility to computers.

I doubt it. I started when I was over 30, but I didn't feel it was hard to catch up with those who started at 10 or 15.
It takes analytic ability to become a good programmer, what specific languages or technologies you have used in the past don't seem to matter that much. People become "senior" programmers with just 2-3 years of work experience.

The first computer we had was an Apple 2e. The first computer language I learned was Basic for the Commorder 64.

I started on an Apple 2+ at age 5. My mother bought me the 3-2-1 Contact magazine which had a program in the center of each issue. By age 6 I was writing my own Basic programs.

Canada, 1980, I wanted to program my own "Space Invaders" in Basic. The library allowed you to sign out the school's only computer for a half hour during lunch. It was a Radio Shack; I think it was a TRS-80 or was that a later model? The Basic program was saved to a regular audio tape with a regular tape recorder. I never got the game working, I think I got a single invader to move once across... I missed out on road hockey.

Commodore Vic-20. 5K of Ram. At the same time going to radio shack and playing with the TRS-80s.
My high school was lucky enough to have a Commodore Pet. That even predates the Vic.
Many, now I feel old. Hard to believe that was over 20 years ago.
Back to the days of QBasic and REAL line numbers.
We should do a study. We all know dogs age about 7 years for every human year. Wonder what the ration is for computers. Figure out how old I'd be in computer years.

It seems like many of us started programming as kids. Most of us are adults now, which means that we have been 'hooked' on programming since childhood. How does this affect us in the long run? It has given us direction in life, stimulated our brains, got us jobs etc... What about negative effects?

Yes, there are also some negative aspects I think. For example it often happens that young programmers are sitting at their computers the whole day without social contacts...
