I use InoculateIT Personal Eddition for antivirus protection on my W2K. It takes very little of system resources and never did cause any problems. Only minor inconvenience is that its updates are big to download (~720KB).

Before that I tried AVP from Kaspersky Labs (www.kasperskylabs.ru). Probably it's a toughest antivirus app in the world, but it requires a lot of CPU. On PII300 with NT4 it was unbearable to work because of small delays all the time.

Also, I'm using Naviscope (www.naviscope.com) for anti-banner/popup windows protection. It runs smoothly with IE5.5 on W2K and wipes out ~95% of banners add from web pages. Unfortunately this project is no longer supported, so I don't know what to do when I'll upgarde from W2K to something else.. Smile | :)

I think that nowadays when addware and spamware is so common, there is a real demand for some good anti-add software protection. It's annoying much more than viruses.
