I made my first DOS programming with the Spectrum 128k in the 80es as a kid and helped my oldest brother (in college) to install and get started with win 3.11 at the age of 11. Got my own Pentium II with 150 MHz some time later but I really started (seriously) programming around the 2000s with C, then Borland C++, PALs, PICs, Telemechanique Grafcets (which I liked a lot), VC++ 6... then I changed to industry PLCs (I really liked the Grafcets  ) missing the introduction of c# and .Net Framework and many other things afterwards. When I left PLCs as main field I got like   what's all that? And I came back to my CP account to get up to date again... never left after that.

I think I've been on here about 13 years - not sure where to check.
Really only been writing software for a living since the late 80's but started coding at school on a time share computer in about '74. Bit of dabbling with 8080 and Z80 micros during the late 70's/early 80's

You land on your profile.
Center right side, that's is the current profile pic / avatar. In my case is a geometric form (Squares of several sizes and some X on the corners)
Below that is my reputations score, my given profession and my time in CP (for me some 17 yers and 5 months now)
You can upload a profile picture / avatar if you go to "My settings" on the left menu and then the first register "Account". Here you can change your email, your nick, your password and your picture (right side "select profile image")

My "crap I'm old" moment came a few years ago when I walked into our local Cub Scout pack roundup meeting and one of the dad's signing his son up had been in my son's den in the same pack.

Members with numbers below a few hundred like me and Ravi B are those who were on the list Chris used to send out the initial invites to the site since were members at the previous site that shall remain nameless. My participation here has varied over the years but I am on the road a lot less these days so I am more active. I spent a number of years on the road and I wouldn't want to do that again with the state of travel these days.
