So I guess all the snow has melted at the Snow Bowl north of Flagstaff?
We visited in April and they were still skiing there.
Scottsdale, then up to the Sedona area and took the drive up to Flagstaff as something to do.
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

I was persuaded to be a Best Man at a friend's wedding in Phoenix. Outdoor wedding, 108 degrees, tuxedo! Luckily , it was a dry heat and it didn't last long before we went indoors for the the reception.

I live at 7000 ft in the White Mountains of AZ
Yes 97 degrees daytime but by 8 PM we go down to 76 degrees
BUT only 10% Humidity
Having lived at Grand Canyon I would watch and provide medical care
for hikers coming out of the bottom of the Canyon
Some were not adequately prepared for the hike a few would loose their life because of this
It is not a dry heat It is a HOT burn and dehydrate your body heat!

In Texas we say "we are having a heat wave" or just another long hot summer. 42+C is pretty hot.
We get some of that in west and north central parts of state.
Near the coast, not so much but still high 90's.
What we do in that kind of heat, is stay in doors most of the time
with AC running full blast.
All our cars have AC.

Reminds me of my 3 years in Southern Arizona. Any outside work started at 5am and ended by 10am.
Interestingly, all of the weather forecasts started with the burn index - the # of minutes you can stay outside unprotected and not get sun burn. Usually under 7 minutes.
The children all learned about metal and the sun. They could get into their car seats, keeping their legs apart to avoid the metal clasp.

20+ years ago built a dome house with R-60+ insulation. Insulated concrete foundation. Installed Geothermal for heating/cooling.
A/C is awesome.

Putting bottled water in the freezer and wear a wet towel on my head.
A bottle of frozen water is your fried; also prevents you from drinking too quick.

Umm, nothing outside!
Living in the Southwest, we adapt. We pray the air conditioning keeps working  And if you have to do anything outside, like yard work, you get out at 6am. Friends who used to live in Arizona consider it their winter. You only go out when you have to and go from house to car to store and back.

It's not perfect, but it's miles (or kilometers if you prefer) better than other communities out there online for the most part.
Primadonnas in tech are a dime a dozen, and they haunt a lot of places online, not just the workplace.
I recently ran into some on a discord server. They are so tiresome. I told them in my experience the real talent helps other people get good, and the punters waste everyone's time talking trash.
It shouldn't bother me, but what does bother me about it is some people are so desperate to feel like they're better than other people that they can't even play well with others for any length of time. Get some therapy.
I've seen it here, but it's nowhere near as bad as I've found elsewhere. Thanks to the regular contributors here who make this a positive place to be rather than turning everything into a d*** measuring contest.

If you go back a decade or more, I thought back then that the Q&A was quite toxic. IIRC some new guidelines were posted and enforced in order to make it a more pleasant experience for beginners.

I'm glad I missed that.  I visited a decade ago but on a different account that mysteriously stopped working on me, but also I just lurked and didn't really visit Q&A.
