Unlike a painter, a developer can (though may not) keep tweaking a program -- v1, v2, etc. Yet unlike, the musician, we don't have to start fresh each time we want to make improvements. And still unlike the composer, we can feel confident that the computer will perform our magnum opus exactly as we have instructed.
