NewsVSI OpenVMS V9.2 for x86-64 Pin

As a long-time fan of VAX/VMS and OpenVMS -- as several of the members here are -- I was (mildly) excited by the idea that VMS Software, Inc. (VSI) was porting it to x86. And yesterday I received an E-mail announcing that it is ready.

"
We are excited to announce the availability of VSI OpenVMS V9.2 for x86-64, first production release that runs on VMware, KVM, and VirtualBox.
"

"
What is OpenVMS on x86
VMS Software, Inc. has migrated OpenVMS and its layered products to the industry standard x86_64 architecture to help customers protect their investment in OpenVMS infrastructure, especially in virtualized environments and in the cloud. OpenVMS V9.2 is now available to all VMS Software, Inc. customers; VMS Software, Inc. is working on the next version which will support even more environments and products.

CPU Requirements
Intel x86 CPU
64-bit Instruction set
NX processor bit (NX)
Streaming SIMD Extensions 4.1 (SSE4.1)
Virtualization Technology (VT-x)
XSAVE instructions
Time Stamp Counter (TSC)
Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller (APIC)
Memory Type Range Registers (MTRR)
Most Intel CPUs from 2016 and later support these processor features.
"

I don't think I have any CPUs from 2016 or later. I also don't generally use virtual machines, and I'm unsure whether or not it can boot directly on PC hardware.

Oh the shark, babe, has such teeth
