Just noting that I don't consider that a feature that would have any impact at all in a language choice.

Further if one is spending a major part of their time creating new applications I would wonder what exactly is the business domain they are working in. After all if you are maintaining an application for 20 years then the entry point for that application should not change at all for the entire time.
