Those posts should be flagged as "Not an answer" and the member flagged for "Abusive / Trolling".

A slotbot is a bot account that posts gambling ads.

There is a computer somewhere in Thailand (I think) that creates an account and posts a single Thai message, question, or answer pushing his slot-based online casino.
Then he repeats the process after a random interval - sometimes under a second, sometimes a couple of hours.

He's a slotbot: a bot that posts about his slot site.

Most of the time, they come in singles or doubles and the automated system picks them up and slams 'em over to the moderation queue for confirmation and reporting. But ... every now and then they try to swamp us with dozens, or even hundreds of new accounts posting similar drivel. That's why I wrote this: A way for CP members to reduce RSI during spam wave events[^]

There are a couple of these - slots, Indian gurus, clothing ... all just annoying little toads. Big Grin | :-D

Thanks. Yeah, I wonder why these same guys persist in trying. At some point, you would think that they would give up.

I do remember the article but never downloaded the app, just had a text file that I used. I'll have a look. 5'd the article.

It's a bot: they set it going and don't have to check that anything is getting through. It doesn't cost them anything real to leave it running and something might get through.

I think they do check sometimes though, as the patterns do change - they try different wording, or layout, or volume.

There is the CodeProject AI. I'm not sure if the guys at CP kept the reported users and reported posts, articles, etc or simply ejected them from the DB. If old data was kept, there is an opportunity to train their own AI to catch them as exceptions and move them to a moderation area or automate the process, giving the OPs the chance to request a review within a limited timeframe or get removed.

Just a thought...
