It should get expensive but likely won't. Apple will probably not do the right thing and recall all the airbooks and ipads, my wife has both, both are M1. I have gleefully, none.

The question of expense depends on whether or not this is a microcode bug or a hardware bug. Microcode can be fixed but hardware would likely require replacement.

I just got my new win 11 custom built workstation and I frigging love it. I was very afraid at first having horrible upgrade experiences in the past. So far I like the fact that the start button in the center and everything is pin able either to task bar or start bar. I am now at the large single monitor and having start in the center rather than bottom left removes strain from me eye balling it. VS 2022 installed seamlessly and Office 2021 64 bit installed and works great.
I was able to pull down few older Git Hub projects, for test purposes, and rebuilding them nearly without a glitch with a single modification to an environment variable.
I am still somewhat confused to the Account Settings though. I prefer to run on a non admin account as it lowers my chances of executing a malicious downloaded code. However what I see now is either full Admin account settings or non Admin account (denied of any installations privileges) settings. On Win 10 I was able to tweak a standard user account to install but still be under non admin privilege. But all in all I did not see any show stopping items and even with current setup I can do what needs to be done.

I had heard so many that had posted about their bad experiences with wIN11 that I held off upgrading for the longest time.
But once I did upgrade I really like it and so far it's been a pleasant experience.

I bought a Dell XPS 17 at the start of this year. It had Win 10 installed, but came with the Win 11 image as well. I figured eventually I would need to install it, so did the upgrade right off the bat.
I find that Win 11 works smoothly, and seems to run faster overall. The only thing I am not fond of is the redesigned Start Menu - I liked having my favorites set up in clear groups, and room enough to show all the items I need without paging. I'll have to see what I can do about that...

I've run into this myself a time or two, but never to this extreme. The worst I'd seen was the cost for 2 items triple that of 1 and the increase for 3 and beyond to track more or less linearly from there.
Sometimes a different vendor in the Amazon Marketplace has different pricing options too.
The last one I saw was single item $6, bundle of 4 $32. Ok, I'll take 4 singles please. Nope - quantity limited to 3 per order. Fine, I'll take 3 then. A month later and the bundles are slightly cheaper than 4 singles.
It's definitely Caveat Emptor out there!
