[1] After I switch branches using my external Git client VS will frequently stop being able to publish a database update. I can pick the DB I want to update, but it never starts doing anything on the Datatools window, and requires an end-task to stop because you can't quit while it's publishing.
[2] Only mentioned because of the irrational hate some people here have over MS deciding to let its iconographers blog a few years ago; but their continued retreat away from the unshaded monochrome icons from a few generations ago looks better than the old ones.

I believe this is a different Prism. I am referring to the prism composed by Brian Lagunas et al. It is very useful if you write projects in the MVVM style.

There's a PRISM plugin? I've been using PRISM since 2014, and didn't know there was a template pack available until I just searched for it. I'd try it out... but I'm on VS2022.

Unfortunately we're still stuck on VS2015 because newer versions have to be approved by three separate entities for use on three different networks. Government bureaucracy at its best...

Still use 2019 for RDLC Report Design, because the design extension does not seem to be available on VS 2022. We are trying to accelerate rewriting all of our reports in Telerik.

I'm nearing the end of a large project -- we're not changing anything until it's delivered.
Most reports indicate VS 2022 is not ready to rock, and since I have no incentive, I'm just watching. I'll install it eventually, but not in any hurry.
My enthusiasm for riding the bleeding edge died a couple decades ago.

Whilst I think that the VS Community editions are fantastic value for money, I'm even more fond of Rider, especially when bundled as part of the JB toolbox, with all the other bits that I use (Webstorm, Datagrip and occasional forays into PyCharm, CLion and GoLand). I heartily recommend checking out the JB products if you haven't already, though I still stand by the assertion that VS Community is really good, and free!

Absolutely. And don't forget Jetbrain's IntelliJ for Java and Android Studio for Android applications! They are right there up with VS when it comes to utility!

Installed it yesterday to be able to support the latest .Net Framework.
Not sure that I like the new style icons. It also uses more memory than 2019 for the projects I loaded. Other than that it seems fine.

More problems with .net framework compilation.
More problems in Solution Explorer.
I don't believe it's going to be fixed.

And for the same reason: I think there are still bits and pieces of VS 2008 (if not earlier) still hiding in corners on my desktop.

Haven't used Visual Studio in years. VS Code is not perfect, but works fine for many languages and file formats I use.

I wrote a free and open-sourced VS extension, which had quite a few users.
As some of them started using VS2022 and urged me to, I had to install that thing.
More space consumed. More RAM used. More bugs.
Now I had VS2017, 2019 and 2022 on a single machine...

While I don't work 100% on C# at the moment. I am stuck on 2019 as 2022 is still in preview.

I'm working on some code with a customer of mine.
He upgraded to .NET 6, which also means I'll have to use VS2022.
I'm planning to start using VS2022 for all my other projects as well.
Luckily it runs next to 2019 because I still use that for Crystal Reports which is kind of keeping me hostage

I'm 100% on embedded so I don't benefit from anything updating VS can offer - libraries, compiler, .NET... I'm using it to use a paid extension I bought that grants me a lot of power over code, especially code that I do not know deeply yet. And it's the best code editor out there, far outclassing VS Code.
