After a two week vacation I'm back on the grid!
I spent most of my time playing the Final Fantasy VII Remake, ate a whole lot of cheese, spent Christmas with family, didn't go out for a week.
My pants and shirt had to be chipped off, I had my underwear surgically removed and my house is currently being decontaminated, but I'm all good again 
On to the next Christmas break 
But first, back to work

I don't think I had that, but I had something that looked like it 
I had nine different cheeses and especially the blue one was disgusting to smell and touch, but I just love the taste
There's a cheese specialty store just around the corner where I work, so I treat myself to a nice Christmas present with cheeses every year.

Google Ad Placement policy does not permit embedding their ads in desktop apps.

I'll share this;
There's this thing called a host file, and adsjumbo is blocked here; I do not want to deal with a court case where they injected malware; too often ads are unsafe.
It may seem a good way to monetize your application. I prefer shareware, where I donate some money to the author.

I run a pair of pi-hole DNS servers, and see few (if any) ads on any of my devices. They update their block lists on a regular basis so it's always up-to-date.

I run the pi-hole as well, but a lot of the ad files it depends upon haven't been updated in a while. Still works great though.
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.

if you turn on automatic updates, it will periodically update the files.
On my primary DNS, I have over 3 million blocked domains.

Half of the adlists on my Group Management page don't exist anymore and those are the ones that came bundled with pi-hole.
Did you add any lists to the list of lists that didn't come with pi-hole?

Yeah, but I forgot which ones. I couldn't do the youtube ones because that caused youtube to stop working at all.

Well said. To the OP:
If your app provides value, said value will be completely undermined by embedding ads. People resort to ad blockers for a reason.
If you really think your app has value, sell it.

most people here in CP are 1000% against any form of advertising or malware. You are not going to find much support here in trying to use this tool.
Also, I am not sure this is the forum for this post.

I wouldn't agree there. There are two ways for sites to support themselves - ads or subscriptions (==paywalls). Ads like the ones that appear on CodeProject are no problem; it's the ones that are always in your face that give ads a bad name.

Instead of monetizing with ads, which is evil, a security risk, and everyone will hate you, you charge a monthly subscription or a nominal fee after a trial period? any business model other than using ads for revenue.
