The account is old enough to be the original author that changed the nickname somewhere in the past.
I suppose we need someone to dig a bit deeper. @Sean-Ewington or @Chris-Maunder would you mind to have a look?

EDIT:
Bullsh1t... the homer guy is a different account and the account original author is still there.
But the difference between revision 1 and revision 2 is actually removing the email of the homer guy and not adding it.

I emailed this author yesterday about fixing the article (thought on second look I shouldn't have bothered). I believe this is the root of the mystery.
