Better - I just spent 10 minutes kneading bread dough for pitas and I'm not completely whacked out, so I may risk mowing the garden tomorrow. (That's harder work than you think - I have to take each "hopper full" of cuttings down a steep flight of uneven stairs to dispose of them, and it takes quite a lot of trips).

I don't have a the stairs but I do mow (with a 50' electric cord).
Sometimes I need garden mulch or something for the compost heap (and it's just a heap on the ground).
When I don't, I put the mower in "mulcher" mode and all the grass is chopped find and pushed back into the lawn. Nothing at all to empty and it's actually good for your lawn!*
* I can identify various plants and weeds - I just don't care about caring for a lawn beyond the barest minimum: I never fertilize or water the damn thing. Only a lunatic would do that, that is encourage it to grow bigger and faster. Why? So it gives you more work? Only a paid landscaper could sensibly do that so you pay for more frequent visits.
Now, my vegy garden - that's another story. Clean soft soil with happy produce being produced. In this case, good care gives you something you want: more food.
So - go mulcher mode - save yourself a lot of hassle.

the best idea is to plan your recovery, not your backup.
I generally concentrate on user data/files/settings (user/system AppData...)
if there's databases do those in an unloaded/export format (likewise a registry backup/export file rather than the registry itself.)
It's much easier to restore on an apps own import/restore function rather then just dumping the files back (and hoping issues such as raw block allocation/contiguity is not an issue)
OK, an image can overcome many of the issues but
1. if it's the hardware that died image restore likely fails (windows for sure), and extracting from raw backed up registry / database next to impossible.
2. even on the same hardware a full sys rebuild - do you want all the same superfluous 'baggage,' back again, and perhaps also take the opportunity to upgrade apps (or o/s) during rebuild.
restores will always take far longer then expected, even more so if an image that had apps and/or settings 'tweaked' to make it work a certain way. I'd rather reinstall [fresh] apps, then restore (reload) data/files back rather than figure out the tricks employed to make it tick properly.

for linux I got lazy and use FreeFileSync...
the setup I have is 2 internal SSD,
- the second started as a "dd" image of the first but since then I just use FFS to update it.
also 2 external USB SSD (rotating) that are again full images of the main drive
(usb 3.1 SSD is almost as fast as SATA so even after a heavy day backing up say 10-20GB of updated files (typically VM's) at the end of the day is finished before I can get a coffee
- and most daily backups are way less than that)
versioning?: what the source control doesn't version I do myself where it matters. (mostly it matters for source, so if already being done why do it.)
FFS is the lazy option (that I used initially when moving from winduds) and just kept using it.
there's built in commands that do exactly same thing:
notably rsync - it's command line but there are GUI interfaces for it too
the beauty of the simple mirror-backup option is:
1. I could remove ffs and using the built-in rsync it would still be smart enough to back up only changed files (sort of like in winduds say swapping xcopy for robocopy)
2. restoring is simple:
say something in my work folder "/home/share/dev/pplus" gets broken
it's backed up on "/shadow/home/share/dev/pplus" internally - always mounted,
and /media/bk/home/share/dev/pplus when either external drive is plugged in.
the beauty of linux (I actually did this for my backup machine) is any one of those backup or original images can be plugged straight into another machine (even if the hardware differs which it did), just switch it on and it boots ready to go - no downloading/installing different drivers, no drive letter changed crap, no licence or "welcome to xxx" first use popups... - even in the windows vm's contained in the image. (Another main reason you should always guest windows on linux hosts rather then visa-versa.)

Not necessarily, certainly AOMEI can restore to a different disk without problems (I've even a restored bootable HDD image to a SSD and had no problems at all (all part of backup integrity testing).

We had some pretty severe storms on Saturday, and lost power several times. One of those times was three consecutive power cycle events that had some detrimental effects on my Raspberry Pi3B+ DNS servers. One Pi died completely, and the other fried its thumb drive (it's somewhat curious that the pi that died was not the one that contained the corrupted thumb drive). I re-imaged the thumb drive and had a spare Pi, so recovery took a few hours (I took the opportunity to update the OS and PiHole software).
For the Pi that died, we interred it in a small crypt in the back yard, and had a small private remembrance ceremony in the house. There were tears.

I have six UPS's. I had a spare one that I connected the pi's too so I could see if I could fix the one that was in use at the time.

Hi,
Most of the 18650 power banks allow you to charge/discharge at the same time. They go for around $10-20 and would have prevented this from happening. The 18650 batteries on the other hand... go for around $5 each for the good brands.
With no power my board would still be up for several days.

Interesting. I've never seen a UPS without a battery indicator. Most of my APC units have an audible alarm that you simply cannot ignore.
Your prepper skills seem to be devolving. You should go check the emergency food cache... I bet some of it is spoiled.
