The English term "fathom" and the Norwegian term "favn" has a common root, and was originally the distance between your fingertips when you stretch your arms straight out.
Problems occur with the modern use of "favn". In human relations, "å favne", "å omfavne", "å favne om" is to put your arms around someone, to embrace them (in a warm and heartily sense). "Jeg vil ta deg i min favn" (I will take you in my arms) is even closer, more protecting, like a parent holding around arms around his child. Definitely not any social distancing. Quite to the contrary.
Danish and Swedish have the same issue (although in Swedish I believe it is "famn"). So I thin we should rather stick to the kicking style of indicating distance.

Still not eating - but I've found that Lime Squash seems to help with dehydration and doesn't "bounce". Herself is better than me in that regard, she can drink Complan (a meal substitute) - but she's now on Amoxicillin because of the blood that's coming up with her mucus.
Neighbours are being wonderful - so many offers of help with shopping it's unreal - though one couple are apparently considering murdering each other. We suggested she beat him to death with a frozen leg of lamb, cook it, and feed his remains to the dog / George's pigs...

As long as you're drinking (in the aquatic sense ), you should be OK. You can live without food a lot longer than you can without water.
Being susceptible to dehydration issues myself, I was told that ordinary Coca Cola (non-diet) is a good emergency rehydration fluid - available everywhere, and contains most of what the medical rehydration fluids contain, albeit in different concentrations. You might also try Gatorade or similar, if you can get it.
Herself's symptoms sound nasty. I hope that you both come through OK.
