As for the rest of your story, why would I ever want to stock up though? Confused | :confused:
The chances of something like this happening are much smaller than the chance of something going over the expiry date and me having to throw it away.
I do weeks with a bread, and months with a pack of toilet paper, toothpaste and shampoo, so when I buy those they are "in stock" by default.
Yoghurt, on the other hand, I can only stock up for two weeks before it goes bad.
That's why I only take a week worth of yoghurt when I do groceries.
The same goes for fruit and vegetables.

I think if everyone stocked up like you suggest, we'd have a lot more waste.
And by the time you actually need your stock it be like "wow, I should've thrown out this canned soup ten years ago..." (although it's probably still edible Laugh | :laugh: )
