Can someone please write an article an extremely advanced attributes.
Not just creating them but Like the Property attribute for the toolbar applies to all components within an assembly
What is the methodology behind attributes and how in a real world can you save coding time.
I've read all of the attributes but I yearn for a really adavnced topic for c#
I'm not an expert yet, but I play one at work. Yeah and here too.

Specifically, i would like to see some information on converting audio from a known format (ie: wave) to an arbitrary format, *not* using directshow or codecs, but instead doing so by hand... This is specifically because i want to A) use java to do it, and B) the target format is not a predefined audio format, but rather one that was custom-made for the program.
I don't need anything specific to this format, but i would love to see something that would at least get me pointed in the right direction. Every search i try on the subject dumps a whole lot of junk about codecs and/or encoding apps on my lap, and teaches me nothing.

Hello and congratulations for this overwheliming site.
What I would like to see is an article on how to create a drop target for the SendTo menu that sends shortcuts of files to a specific folder.
Just as the "Desktop (create shortcut).DeskLink" works, but sending shortcuts elsewhere than the Desktop.

I've quickly looked through your article yesterday and today but I am under the impression that the produced script allowes for copying or moving files but not creating shortcuts of the files.
Can you possibly shed some light there?
Also, if this is the case, can you point the bits that I would need to change in the script?

Hi!
After months, and months of architecting, programming and debugging we have finished our first
multimedia educationnal software! Great!!! 
...*But*, security is lacking..

Can what follows be done, and how please!??
1- Get a C# Windows Service installed silently (before the normal installation of the software)
that gathers the components' names of the target computer (where the software is installed)
2- Converts those components' names into a string (like, a GUID, sort of...) then sends it
to our web server, encrypted.
3- Our web server then sends back a DLL (or something!.. whatever..!) that is incorporated
with the software that is installed.
4- Every time the application starts, it checks for the Windows Service' string (or unique computer signature) to verify that it matches the DLL that our Web server sent.
DONE!
is this possible, or secure??
How can i do that? I'm fairly proefficient in C# (which is in what our app is written),
and to know how to do this kind of security would be great.
ps.: have any ideas on this method?

It seems very good idea to use a html viewer instead of richtextbox, when there is no need for user to insert any text.
We only create our html tags, and for exaple load it into Text property of such a component, and every thing is done!
I don't know if there is any thing like that.

Hi,
I just Tried with the FTP session for my project using Embeddded VisualC++ 3.0.
After using InternetOpen, InternetConnect Api's, I just procedded with the FtpSetCurrentDirectory, FtpFindFirstFile. But when compiled I get the error 'FtpSetCurrentDirectory' : undeclared identifier.
I have used those as below
FtpSetCurrentDirectory(ftpsession, directory );
FtpFindFirstFile(ftpsession, TEXT("*.*"),&file_data,NULL,NULL);
I have also included the Wininet.h, wininet.lib for the x86 Processor & using the HandHeldPC Emulator.Can any one tell me how to solve this problem.
Its very urgent.

I was thinking that it would be a cool idea to provide a simple control that could be embedded in PocketPC and TabletPC applications that would train a new user on how to use a pen.
For instance, TabletPC pens have a right-click button which can be a hassle, and PocketPCs have the press-and-hold for right click op's.
The control would be invoked by a single call (TrainingDialog.Show()), with potentially a way to list which training steps that would be available to the user (double-tap, pressure sensitivity for Tablets, right click etc).
Obviously once tablets and mobile devices become more ubiqutous the need for this will be less, but I know that if I handed my Mother a tablet PC she would love it, but would initially not have any idea how to use it. A drop-in training dialog would be a nice community service.
