0) I have a EF model with a context and a few entities, based on some stored procs.
1) I changed a stored proc, and went to update the stored proc in the model from the database. It didn’t update.
2) I figured, “ok, I guess I’ll delete the current entity and just regenerate it.
3) It created the entity, but appended the name with a “1”.
4) You can’t manually change the entity names that are generated from the database.
5) It looks like my only recourse is to delete the Edmx in its entirety, and start over. That’s just plain f*ckin absurd.
6) I f*ckin hate Entity Framework.

Well, I refuse to deal with the crapware known as the EF code generator. I'm doing everything manually, including creating the entity models. As I get more and more of the stored procs done, it'll end up being faster overall.

So, I'm reading Marc's rant about AWS, and all of the buzzwords got me curious. I'm always interested in learning new technology for specifically money grubbing purposes. I looked up AWS:

I mean, what the hell people? This is completely out of control and falls under the "dazzle them with your bull$hit." When I worked in defense, at least there was a guideline for naming weapon systems: AN/ALQ-184 == Air Force, Navy, Jammer, Special, System 184. I would listen to people mystified by that, but at least there was a system, a common approach.
This is just stupid.
On another note, I just saw an article where Microsoft's next Windows 10 build provides much more control over OS updates and reboots. See what happens when you UPS a horse's head to Redmond?

Yeah, delay for 35 days, which then forces an update before you delay another 35 days.

Send more horse heads. They took a basic "never install updates unless I approve" checkbox and turned it into a several options with obtuse language that only pretends to give you control. A lot like wedding vows.

So I'm trying to set up a simple test for using AWS lambda.
Docs suck. Docs are circular.
Forum sucks. Sign in, but apparently can't post for several hours.
There's f***ing link in their forum to "why can't I post?" Error Posting Messages to the AWS Forums[^]
JFC. Why can't they just say that on their f***ing forum page?
Actually, it's not even a link. I had to copy and paste the stupid-ass thing. This is full text:

They can't even provide a clickable link. 
Internet sucks. Can't find a single comprehensive "here's how you use VS2017 with AWS lambda". You'd think Amazon would have such an article, but their links are like a labyrinth that leads nowhere.
It's like they purposely put up detours, wrong way streets, and roadblocks to get you to use Azure instead, which was a 30 second easy-peasy setup.
Downloaded and installing AWS SDK for .NET[^] knowing darn well it wouldn't work.
And sure enough it doesn't. No "setup your account" on the startup page as the instructions state there should be. No AWS template when I create a folder, as the instructions state there should be.
As anyone gotten this pile of dung (specifically the turd called lambda) working with VS2017? A simple yes or no will suffice. Yes will give me vacuous hope, no will confirm my cynicism.

If you have used Azure, you will quickly find that AWS is way tougher to get used to. Say what you want about Microsoft, but their documentation and IDE integration is the best in the world.

Every day in my inbox, I get the CodeProject summary email and I love the content and enjoy the snarky discussions that hit the top of the lists. Then sometimes I'll look through other threads that have catchy titles.
But I feel like I am missing something.
Clearly, people are seeing questions very quickly and are answering quickly. Are they just getting a bzillion emails for each forum? Is there a web app? A phone app? An IRC channel? How do people interact with the community in a manner to make it a community as opposed to just a mostly-historical-view of questions that have already been discussed as-naseum?
Or am I just better off not knowing as it will be a massive time sink.

That sounds reasonable. Most of the fast answers (Q/A, Lounge etc.) are from CP junkies, means "so heavily addicted dependent"

Try being useful from the other side of the planet, when I opened up CP this morning a response from JSOP was 4 pages down in the Lounge.
For those of us that do not have CP open all day every day we are doomed to be spectators, either commit to being a CP junkie or be satisfied to be a spectator.
