I always define the rolls clearly. Its either a dinner roll, kaiser roll, or when I've got that sweet tooth, I ask for a cinnamon roll.

It is my experience that the project teams and managers don't have the proper instruction and experience writing good user stories and/or requirements. Therefore, it is only appropriate that developers feel this way. It's a no brainer.
Also, this can be attributed to the client not being 100% sure what they want, when they want it. Which equates to extremely poor/vague requirements, etc.

For the type of game that Minecraft is, with the mods, etc., Java is still the perfect language for it.
I use to write mods for Minecraft, back in the day, and that was a lot of fun.

They have taken sides with cloud, and as-a-service approach. From what I can imagine, it doesn't really now. They have started to support Linux, Azure AD is on Linux VMs, open source data science tools and products, HDInsight, and Apache etc. Even on their App Service plan, they supported Linux first and then they provided Windows containers support in preview, just now.
It comes to me as a shock, that Java support is what you are worried about.
