In my exploration of Angular, I must say, I'm somewhat dismayed by the realization that I have to choose:
which version of Angular to use
which version of TypeScript to use
possibly which version of .NET Core to use
which Visual Studio plugin to use to support TypeScript and Angular
or ditch VS and use Sublime
or ditch Sublime and figure out all the VS Code plugins I need
possibly which version of node.js to use
and all the other stuff and their versions needed to build a modern desktop/mobile app
and once I start the project with my selected choices (let's say I go with the latest and greatest of all) then I have to keep constant track of all the different moving pieces and hope that if I keep myself current, there are no breaking changes.
I think that requires more time managing the tools than actually using them!!!

I love the childlike naivety that by trying to engage the community they can do breaking changes without splitting the developerbase.
I hope they can avoid anything on the scale of the Python 2->3 debacle and get >90% of new development onto v2 within a year or two; but companies that aren't filthy rich techbrotard nerdfests generally have better things to do than rewriting working software just for the sake of doing a rewrite; so any major changes are going to result in apps running on the legacy stack for a number of years.

The "League of Useless Pricks" takes offense.
Scary part; there's another bunch doing the same thing to Visual Studio. They boasted about their new "lighter blue" design last week or the week before. It's almost as though Microsoft is being run by people who don't actually use their products.

Design is not the issue with the Office apps. Personally, I find Word to be unusable. I despise how it forces you into doing things its way because I can't stand its way. Every time I use it I am reminded why many people who deal with massive documents do not use Word. When my wife worked in a law office she told me Word was nowhere to be found there.
