This forum exists so abusive and/or spammy behaviour could be reported. Your suggestion goes against the very purpose of the existence of the spam and abuse watch forum.

From what I could tell, this member has been a contributing member of the site.
I think it is nuts to ban someone from the site for getting into a heated discussion. I guess I'm just too nice of a guy.

You're right, surely it only applies to plagiarizing and can't be extended to other misuses.

It's only mentioned on the plagiarism rule. If you think it should apply to other cases of abuse, then you should start a discussion about that in Bugs & Suggs.

So, you're basically questioning the existence of this forum. I suppose you'll have to ask Chris about that, but I think it's to report repeat offenders/extreme cases (like the one who just was kicked out), spammers, etc. that may otherwise slip through the system.

If asking programming questions in the General Indian Topics Forum repeatedly and telling off people who suggested it's not appropriate counts as contributing, then yes. I'm not going to go into the details, but if you've not been participating regularly in the GIT, then you may not have the full context here.

I'd probably agree with you if I didn't have the context (as said above), but I still do agree with you that Chris might reinstate the account if the OP asked him politely and was apologetic about their behaviour and past offences.

The problem is I see too many people who think they own CodeProject and come here and try to get people kicked off for doing one little thing wrong. Too many people abuse this forum.

I'm struggling to see your point here, given that I have little control over what someone else might find as offensive or decide to report. As stated in another post, I basically laughed off the abusive posts because I found it hilarious that the OP had no point to make and resorted to personal attacks.

If it would have been a heated discussion, i might have reported the message and moved on. If "clearly" calling someone M** F** and justifying it till the end is what you call an acceptable behavior (report message and move on), i don't think there is any point in stretching this thread.

A bit strange to claim something on those lines, given that I never even complained about it (not even to the OP who was abusive) and basically laughed it off.
Other users of the forum (I see more than one) found it so offensive that they came here and reported it. I also believe that a significant number of votes will be needed to get someone's account terminated, and so those many people had had enough of the OP. This hardly counts as me getting "what I wanted".
I'd want a yacht, sailing on smooth turquoise seas. With nymphos. In a soapy Jacuzzi. That would be a lot closer to what I "want".

Nope. They are looking for points. They get 10 points (I think) for reporting a member. It happens all the time. People come in and see a member reported, they then report the member without even doing their own research to verify validity.
