Yep, removing those messages is enough. Banning member(he's inactive) is really unnecessary now.

Nah, one of his spam messages was immediately above one I was reporting from a different spammer, and it was obviously spam.
Why should we leave "inactive" accounts just because they haven't spammed for a while?

What good does that do?
In this case, the user hasn't logged in for 4 years, so a warning - assuming his email is still the same - just reminds him that we exist: it does not educate him, or change his behavior. Allit does is encourage him to post fresh spam, doesn't it?
And is it right to kick off new spammers, if we let old spammers stay?
I'm not saying "delete his articles" - they don't seem spammy - but if he does come back to edit them at some point in the future and finds his account closed, he can ask for it to be reopened and at least learns then we don't want spam...

They're not links to StackOverflow, or to any other well-known site.
There are 28 messages in article forums, all of which take the form: "Thanks. [Here is another good article]", linking to blog posts on the same blog.
If he was genuinely trying to share useful information, you'd expect to see links to a variety of sites. But every single link points to the same blog.
The only conclusion is that it's his blog, and he's trying to increase traffic to it by posting these links.
Or "Site-driving spam", as it's known.
