+1 for the NUC. I'm a fan. Mine runs my 4K TV (and additional monitors via VGA->USB), and I use it to remote into all the VMs I have running on my beefier machine sitting in another room.

I agree with that but it's really not saying very much. It's kind of a lesser of two evils situation with those, for me.

There is one thing I do like about it: It's Windows 8 SP2, so most of the really bad rough edges are worn off.
Not as good as Win 7 was though.
