Well, let's be honest - you would, even if you were! Laugh | :laugh:

And we get a lot of spammers, most of which will say anything to post their garbage.

The member that reported you was prompted by the automated system, and has a lot of experience in spotting spam while you joined today and your first post looks like spam to both the automated system and an experienced member. Which one do you think we will believe?

Well, I just was looking for feedback for my first open source project (like in that other community where they suggested to add an Installer for example).
If the wish for opinions makes one a spammer over here.. Ok, then rule out the "dis" in my foregoing post.

I can't see exactly what you posted: the automated detector didn't like it, and an experienced member agreed, so it was deleted and nobody else can read it and tell.

The "wish for opinions" doesn't make you a spammer, but it's possible that the way you asked did. If your post was along the lines of "I wrote this, look at it, it's great!" then yes, it probably looks more like spam than anything else.
If it was a detailed description of the project, what it does, how it works, how it came to be the way it is, and a request for comments, then it probably should have got through as an article - there are a huge number of articles just like that here already: Site Map, Articles[^]

Perhaps if you rephrase the way you asked, it might get through? I dunno - I have no idea what you originally wrote!

(FYI: I posted a link to the project's homepage and asked something like "Do you think this is an useful tool?")
Let's see, maybe I can re-try with providing some more information respectively a more detailled hint to what I am actually looking / asking for.
.. if I would still be allowed to? Or is my account now stigmatized as "spam account" and therefore banned for new posts? Okok, I will just try later on.
Thanks for your feedback btw! Even if it was not related to my project itself, you gave me some useful tips which I will take into account in the future when there is a "wish for opinions" coming up Wink | ;)

The ways of the Spam Detector are not for us mere mortal minds: it's heuristic, and has been know to take a dislike to individuals before...
But no post is deleted automatically: everything the detector picks up goes to a queue for a human moderator to review and pass or reject for publication. (It's a necessary evil - you would not believe the amount of spam we got before it was introduced.)

So far, your account is still open - though it has "spammer tags" associated with it, those will fade with time - so posting is still open and allowed.
Why not write up the project as an article: Submit a new Article[^] - that way you can get feedback and educate people!

It wasn't even that much, was asked (perhaps unintentionally) more in the mode of "I found this project over here, do you guys thinks it's worthwhile using?" It smelled spammy, I looked, I saw it was published by the user, so I called it as I saw it -- trying to drive traffic to his project.

In which case I think you made exactly the right call - but in this case it was probably a case of the OP "posting first and thinking later".
Give him another chance and keep an eye on him?
