For example, this spammer[^] has 353 points, and is showing both a home-page link and a biography.

This[^] is having very good but hard critics. It has 1.05 as score... But it was still published... I mean, seriously?
I have already reported it as "innacurate/misleading" and asked the people commenting there to do the same.
...
I can somehow understand that "I have published in Codeproject" might be very important for some guys as they think it will boost their CV and that they will always try to get crap/plagiarised content/whatsoever through
Commenting what is wrong and giving the author a chance to improve the article is something I respect, but this is not doing any good to the site. Giving the comment and voting 1, leaving the article online is in my opinion worst that giving the same comment, voting one and reporting it to get ride of it. The author gets the same feedback but staying online is like... "it is not that bad". If it gets vanished then is the best incentive to make it better.
And it looks like there is really few people willing to really filter such thing out (my report was the #2, come on...)
I do know too, that a balanced system between hard enough to be qualitative but "easy" to get things published on the same time is really complicated, but this is getting worst and worst with the time.
But as it now is... well...
one just have to pay attention to the "recent" list, there are a lot of contributions that bring nothing new.

We've given a number of members the ability to delete articles. We've also worked hard to build an inclusive rather inclusive community, so the gut reaction is often "let's try and educate" instead of "let's annihilate". That's not a bad thing. It's also not always a good thing.
For what it's worth the article has been deleted. If you see instances like this that just don't seem right then let us know.

I know... I am one of them and I do use the power to fight against spam and plagiarism, but about the quality... I prefer to stay on the back line and use the tools that every other user has (the reports) to avoid "abuse of power" (I already had one or two discussions due to that, although I actually did nothing)

I have no problem with that... But publishing everything (or 90%) of what gets in the moderation queue (not being spam or plagiarism) is not doing any good, neither to the author nor to the site.

I try... but I don't want to fill the "article writing" (the only place I think it somehow fits) with such posts. As far as I know Sean tries to have a 2nd look on items we (protectors) report on misleading or poor quality, but I don't think he can manage to check everything we flag

I went to report Member 13251360 - Professional Profile[^] Instead of the usual shield with a hit count, I got a "!" road sign with a hover title "Database error."

I was reading articles to vote in monthly contests and when i click Marc's article it fails to load.

From Chrome Version 56.0.2924.87 (64-bit). I may be out of date on this VM.
I also tried it from Edge and same problem occurs.

Posting needs to be checked:
The article entitled "Porting A .NET Framework Library to .NET Core" posted 2017.06.06 triggered a Threat warning and was quarantined by AGV. The warning was for Win32:Crypt-RNV[Tr].

AVG has a history of spuriously reporting our articles. My assumption is because
a) The code in the article is vaguely similar to that of a trojan
b) Their heuristics are a little jumpy in these uncertain times
c) The more noise they make the more they justify their existence.
I'll open (another) case with them. Thanks for the report.
Update Just to prove the point that anti-virus makers are more interested in seeming to be valuable than actually providing value, the page you use to report incorrectly blocked content is itself broken (DNS address could not be found)
